... received his PhD in political science at the Free University
Berlin. Most of the research was conducted at the John F. Kennedy
Institute for North-American Studies, Berlin and at various universities
in the United States. He was a Visiting Lecturer at the Department
of Sociology at the Philipps-Universität Marburg in Wintersemester
1997/98 and Visiting Professor at the Social Sciences Department at
the California Polytechnic State University, in Winter Semester 1999.
Since 2001 he is a permanent lecturer at the Sociology Department
at the University College Dublin. Currently he is working on two projects.
The first project is a monograph of the American political philosopher
Judith N. Shklar. The second project looks at institutional dimensions
of the 'moral economy' in the Basque Country (This is a joint project
with Prof. Andrei S. Markovits, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.)
